According to legend, Golden Monkey tea grew in such high and precipitous areas that it was difficult to harvest, so the farmers trained monkeys to pick the tea leaves – hence, the name. Golden Monkey black tea is one of China’s most exquisite and highly-prized teas, due in part to the leaf – at harvest, only the bud and one leaf are picked. The long, twisted leaves are beautifully threaded with gold and are intermingled with velvety, golden buds – a visually stunning tea. Steeping Instructions: Pour 6 oz. heated water (208-212˚F) over 1 teaspoon tea leaves and steep 3-5 minutes. Remove leaves and enjoy. Re-steep as desired.
