Genmaicha toasted rice green tea

Also known as “rice tea” this tea is a unique blend of Japanese bancha and roasted rice. This tea originated centuries ago among the peasant population of Japan; tea was expensive and in order to make their supplies stretch, they added roasted rice. This ‘poor man’s green tea’ has really caught on today and it is enjoying a worldwide popularity.

Steeping Instructions: Pour 6 oz. heated water (180-190˚F) over 1 teaspoon tea leaves and steep 1-2 minutes. Remove leaves and enjoy. Re-steep as desired.
