Our blend of robust black tea, invigorating yerba maté, and other herbs and spices provides the perfect pick-me-up. Yerba maté is a species of holly native to South America, and it has long been enjoyed in social activities. A common South American custom involves drinking maté from a shared hollow gourd (guampa or mate) with a metal straw (bombilla). The taste of yerba maté by itself is somewhat vegetal and grassy, similar to some green teas. Combining this taste treat with some full-bodied black tea and various spices, a cup of Energize certainly lives up to its name and presents an invigorating and flavorful cup.
Steeping Instructions: Pour 6 oz. heated water (205˚F) over 1 teaspoon tea leaves/herbs and steep 4-5 minutes. Remove leaves/herbs and enjoy. Re-steep as desired.
